I've not filled my DEF at a Pilot / Flying J.....BUT....
I can tell you the DEF nozzle at Buc-ees DEF pump did NOT kick off when the Def Tank was full (I spilled some as a result).
This is a very good reason to not use these pumps during winter months for those of us living in colder climates. If an overfilled tank freezes, the damage is not covered by warranty.

So as someone that only filled their DEF tank once....how the HELL do you know when its safely "full" (but not over filled, even into the neck), if the nozzles never shut off (automatically)?

Use the filler that can be purchased from Ford and fill it yourself. It stops filling the tank automatically and leaves expansion room for freezing.

Since DEF has a shelf life dependent on storage temperature I would be careful about buying too large a quantity unless you really burn through a lot of it.

True, good point. I was thinking selfishly. I burn through DEF (work).

ok i guess i deserve that...but (especially in winter) I'm not sure its practical to carry jugs. I think as identified by this thread topic - not everyone has the "ford filler".
I can also buy DEF at the pump cheaper than i can buy it at walmart etc.
