fuel tank issues

ive got a question about my 86 f150.

its become annoying to fill the rear tank, i cannot simply put the filler on full blast and walk away. in order to fill the tank i have to pull the trigger lighty, watch for gas to come foaming up the filler neck and then release the trigger and let it settle into the tank.

its like theres something blocking the gas from going into the tank at full speed. is there some kind of vent tube somewhere that could be blocked? i got under the truck and looked around the filler neck, and i looked around where the filler tube attaches to the tank, everything look in order.

is there somekind of common problem with the tanks on these trucks? since my front tank is leaking i'd like to figure out the problem with this rear tank.

has anyone exprianced something like this before? if anyone can offer any advice that would be great.

Have you checked for a blockage inside that connector hose? I had the same problem until I changed the rubber hose that connects the filler neck to the tank.

My 86 does the same thing. Its the vent tube that is in the filler tube and hose. M is better since I changed the tank. I tried to position itthe best I could. Don't know if I really did but it does fill better.

In the pre-78's it seesm that when truck boxes rust out or settle, they end up crimping the hose filler tube..thus restricting flow when filling up.
