A couple days ago without the intake hoses
Hi all. I’m all but finished on my first rebuild ever. The way I’ve been describing myself is that I have the ability just not the knowledge (gotta start somewhere). I am I looking for everyone’s advice. All fluids are in all bolts are tight. The butterflies are killing me. I’m waiting on the fuel lines to get brazed and we are turning keys.
I could use some schooling on timing and how to set it proper. I have the #1 cylinder at tdc on compression. And the distributor is straight at #1. The timing mark is @0 degrees. I’ve tried looking up videos to watch a few others get ur done but all I see are chevys. Should I advance my timing or leave it at zero.
after a late night of crosseyed internet searching I've come to the conclusion that I need to set it at 12 degrees advanced with the spout out. Any body disagree with that?
12* for initial break in? I'd do something like 5-8. Problem is, you'll have no idea to measure initial precisely until it's running. Get it close with the eyeball (sounds like you've done that) and set it soft for the break in period.
