E4OD overdrive problems
1990 f150 351W...Any transmission guys out there familiar with the E4OD transmission, is the speedometer gear in the transfer case a key piece for transmission function? What does the speedometer control?

Yes, it is a key piece. The transmission shifts mostly on vehicle speed from that sensor. Without vehicle speed the shifts will be very erratic.
