Windshield chips!

Windshield chips!
So awhile back I posted a question if 2012 F350 series owners get a lot of windshield chips. Is it a aerodynamic thing, coincidence etc.
Well I just got 2 more in 2 days 😡! I dont tailgate at all and wonder if my standoff distance is causing the frequent hits! Rock arc + velocity + ballistic trajectory + rate of descent etc ! Who knows !!!
Does anyone use a "bug deflector " on the front of their hood? Would this air flow help 'push' the rocks over the windshield ?
Thoughts ?

I have them on some of my vehicles, and they do stop rocks from causing paint chips on the leading edge of the hood. They also collect leaves and dirt behind them.
No effect on windshield chips as far as I can tell.
I found Colorado was the worst for windshields (winter sanding of the mountain roads); definite salt and pepper effect within a couple years.
I get the big chips filled within a couple days, but 10 to 15 years messes up a windshield in any heavily travelled area within a 100,000 miles... in my experience. I mostly notice it driving into a sunrise or sunset.

I have two rock chips that needed to be fixed in the 50k I've put on my truck. One of them came from a car I met on a two lane road and I can't remember where I got the other one but I know it wasn't from following too close. I also have a bug shield but it's only good for keeping the front edge of the hood from getting chipped up.
