Does anyone know how to program a transponder key for 99 f150 without having to go to a dealership or a locksmith? I have a OEM blank on the way from eBay... After I purchased the key the seller uploaded programming instructions but I must have two original keys for the programming to work.! I only have one and it's not the original but it works... Lowe's Home Improvement said that they would cut the key for free but they will not program it.! So, how to get it programmed...?
With only one key you MUST have a scan tool that can access the right portion of the PCM to do this. The inexpensive code readers will not do it. You do not need two original keys, you need two keys that are programmed to work. Without the second key there is no way other than the scan tool.

Damn... Well, this isn't the answer I was wanting to read lol there must be another way... Lowe's home improvements sales these transponder keys plus Cuts them and then programs them as well in the store... I wonder why they wouldn't be able to program an OEM key.? Hum... Thanks for the reply
If they have two already programmed keys they can easily program a third. Or if they have a high end scan tool (highly unlikely) they can program a second key with only one key.
There is another way. You can get rid of this truck and get one that has two keys.
Lowes is not "programming a new key" into the system when they sell you a copy, they are cloning your existing key's electronic ID into a new key blank. Your system recognizes the new key because it's an electronic copy of your old one.
It is easy to reprogram the PATS system inexpensively, you will need the following: OBDII adapter, Windows-based laptop or tablet, and a free copy of Forscan with the free extended license.

I just knew they had to be an inexpensive way of doing this.! I'd defiantly try the "Redneck Bypass" if they were a good instructional video on youtube doing this on an f150... I've done some searching and so far have found any for this truck but many for cars.! The ignition switch ring is shaped much differently on the f150... Thanks for your reply.! Your input has been more on the positive side than previous messages...
