I have one being shipped to me, only reason for having one shipped, is it was free, did not cost me a penny. Even free it's almost worth just going buy one, lol.

Update: I just went and bought a new cap, put it on, and on the ride home(10 minutes, stop and go traffic and 60mph 1/2 mile run) no leaks, its holding pressure and no audible hissing from under the hood after shut down. I will update more as I get more testing done.

Right now it doesn't look like the cap was free, it looks like it was very expensive.

If this is the fix, then I have to ask what the second shop was thinking telling the OP he needed another go around........or they were really, really slow and needed work.

Ok guys, so this seems to have fixed the puking. I had a 15+minute ride on the highway 70+mph, hard accelerations, and I got onto it a from 70 to about 95. The turbo pegged out at 35 psi, 4K rpm and no puking.
I am more than a little pissed. I will keep updating to be sure that was it. Before the new cap, the truck would have puked by now.

Understand your feelings. It's not abnormal to have people state under coolant over flow to check pressures and replace the cap if you can't test it.

I just had a new cap delivered today along with other parts. It's just a good thing to replace on a schedule.

I already have another on the way (the first one that was "free") and like I said I went and bought one for $6.50 from Autozone. i appreciate the advice about replacing. I will be storing one in the emergency road side bag.

Good luck with it man. Hope it's a simple fix. PLEASE PLEASE KEEP US POSTED. Even if you decide to give up on it and sell. Too many threads are left without closure.

Update: drove the f250 pretty hard yesterday for about 2, hours hard accelerations, 70+ mph on highway, bumper to bumper traffic, and hard accelerations up hill, I was basically trying to make the truck puke coolant, and no issues at all so far.

I went through 6 caps before I got one that sealed properly. As soon as I saw your post, the first thing that came to mind was the cap.

Glad it’s fixed and you’re back on the road!

I would have never imagined it was the degas cap, the damn thing was less than 2 months old, and what’s said is it puked the whole time.

I think the lesson for all of us here is when you get a cap is to install it, pop off one of the air bleed 3/8” hoses going to the degas bottle, install a gauge and regulated pressure supply, then test the cap for its release point.

And if you have an issue of puking and are shop dependent, check to make sure they are checking the cap FIRST!

Luke, I hope this takes care of your issue, but I feel the your consternation of prior work if this was the fault.

I think this was the not the main problem, as I did need the headgaskets replaced twice, and the oil cooler replaced three times. But I am positive that this did not help, and with the frustration of everything being replaced and it still puking, I am happy it does not need another set of Gaskets and studs, and oil cooler.
I will say that I think it’s not an option when it comes to watching your coolant system pressure and EGT temps, on top of everything else that has to be watched. I now understand why I see guys with a dash mounted digital gauge as well as piller mounted gauges.
