Lets talk invisible tuning/modules
Tuning that does not potentially void warranties, and/or for those of us not ready to pull emissions it appears we have two options I can find.
AFE Scorcher and the Stealth module
From what I can see is AFE module intercept a few sensors giving false signal to up fuel and boost most likely. But I have not seen instructions. They claim 50hp/96tq
Stealth, only appears to have one plug for truck and one for their level adjustment ****. they claim 100hp/120tq. Also claim increase in economy possible.
Neither seem to have available documentation like dyno sheets to erify their claims. Is anyone running them? Do you like the changes?
Realistically, Id be happy with a tune that just eliminates the laggy pedal feel and the torque reduction in lower gears and removes the speed limiter.
While this truck is way faster, my tuned 7.3 felt way more peppy off idle.
Any other modules im missing? couple companies now have the capability of flashing pcm/tcm through hand held devices versus the direct flashing that required sending the pcm in just a few months ago, but Im pretty sure those would still be detectable by dealer equipment even if returned to stock.

My father had a chip (stage 2 edge plug and play , not a tuner), and an aftermarket cold air intake installed on his 2003 Dodge diesel installed at the dealer within about 6 months of purchase new. Later had the factory fuel filter setup also replaced with aftermarket. Since everything was dealer installed he never had any issues with the warranty on his truck. Not sure if there are any Ford dealers that do this, but could be an optional route as well.

bumping this back up, any one else have input on these modules? Do you like them? Difference worth the money or should I just bite the bullet and loose some weight and run a real tune. I do miss some of the noise of my straight pipe old truck, but this thing is so quiet Im enjoying it as well.

So far I haven't found a real tune for my 17. Stryker seems like a chance.
