I had my transmission rebuilt last year. Since then I had to take it back to have leaks repaired around the pan. The installer replaced two cork gaskets and finally used a rubber gasket with crush washers. However I still have leaks. My warranty is about to expire and I'd like to not have to keep going back. Any idea on what I can do?
Thanks guys. So, a new pan I suppose. Any recommendations?
One more thing. Last weekend I used degreaser to see where the leaks were coming from. The seepage is slow but slowly making the pan look wet. I've notice behind the trans the drive shaft comes out of the trans, looks like it has slung some type of oil onto the bottom of the truck. I degreased that as well but it seems to be coming back. I now notice a red tint to it , like trans fluid, but can see major leakage to cause the bottom of the truck to look wet. Any ideas?
Got the truck back from the shop. Either he misspoke the last time or his guy didn’t do the what he wanted, but I didn’t have the reusable gasket or rubber with steel washers in the bolt holes. I assume the one after the cork gasket was a fel pro gasket. So, we shall see if there are any leaks going forward. Still have to get the yoke plate sealed up.
