Interior map lights will not turn on when pressed

2010 Navigator
the interior map lights will not turn on when pressed (front or back), however they work fine when the door is open
checked fuse #9 and is ok
any thoughts or suggestions?

Not Sure how Nav compares but a substantial number of 3rd generation Expeditions have had this type of issue. Map lights, glove box and sunvisor lights would not work and fuse on that circuit was blown when truck was delivered. Make sure you are checking the right fuse.

After much troubleshooting found that wire going to sunvisor was crushed so tight upon installation at factory that it caused a short. Removed sunvisors and made sure to reposition wiring and problem was eliminated.

Many Expeditions posted with this issue and the above solved the problem. Let us know what you fine and good luck.
