Help!!!!!! Snap ring lower ball joint

I had my right side upper and lower ball joint replace today, my suspension guy I trust very much and has done work on my truck several times in the past. He called me today and let me know that he could not get the snap ring back on all the way on the lower ball joint, says he's never had this problem. He recommends a couple tack welds? I said ok but not sure if I'm feeling 100% comfortable about this, We are leaving sun out to Lake Havasu and its a five hr drive for me, ill be thinking about this the whole trip..........Thoughts please.

I had the same issue on both sides . I had to get a deeper receiving cup to let it settle in deep enough. Also had to knock it a couple of times to break the tension.
