I ran the 6637 for about 4 years while towing. It has great airflow compared to stock but it was very noisy towing. Switched to the Ford AIS a couple years ago, much quieter & great airflow. I am stock power (no tunes) & did not install a fender sleeve.

The foam fender sleeve for the AIS. I made the mistake and bought the one available online for like $20. Turns out I should have listened to the FTE sages and just used a shop vac pre-filter made of foam like they told me to.

There is a hole in the side of the fender right where the filter box sits. You can cut a hole in the box and put a foam rubber sleeve in there so some air can be brought in through the fender. I never looked to see how it's routed and I don't know if all trucks have that hole in the fender or not. I scored a second hand filter and all holes were there and the filter came with the sleeve.

Nothing beats the AIS for filtration and it will supply plenty of air for your stock turbo. It will also work on a 38r but you'll want to add a fender sleeve. Even with a fender sleeve a 38r will trip the filter indicator so it's not ideal.
