Fuel tank selector switch problem
Fuel tank selector switch problem
Hi. So if I bypass the selector switch, everything works well. When I try to go through the switch and select front or rear tank, no fuel gets to the motor. I've tested the pump and it works fine. Individually, no problems. Any ideas? 1973 F-350 super camper special with a 390.
Do you have a manual switch on the floor by the seat edge? Or a elec switch in the environmental control panel?
Yes yours is a 73 but..78/79 duel fuel tanks frame switch-Duralast/Universal 3 port fuel selector valve used with SW48 toggle switch Part Number: FSV4

Ryan, I have a 1974. I had to replace the valve in the floor next to the seat. I bought it from a local hydraulics supply store. Do you need a brand/model number? The one I got wasn't Ford, but it works perfect. I suspect your handle and shaft is broken from the ball in the valve. PM me if you want me to dig up the info. Of course I'm assuming you already know that the switch up on the dash just routes fuel level sensor to the gauge panel and doesn't "select" fuel supply routing...
Ryan, this is what you need. The center outlet goes to the fuel pump. Point the outlets toward you. The outlet to the left is for the MAIN. The outlet to the left is for the AUX. Reuse the hardware from the valve currently installed in your truck. It's a couple bolts, washers and nuts. I posted a link to your profile visitor page. You should turn on your private mail PM if you can.

The selector switch changes the tanks and the dash fuel gauge from one tank to the other.
