Fuel switch valve

Fuel switch valve
I took a fuel tank switch valve off a junked truck to put on a newer truck that doesn't have two tanks, what wires make it switch? Do I have to have a selector switch off the same truck, or will a different Kind of switch work, and what else do I need to know to do this?

The valve has 5 wires going to it, the switch in the truck has 6 going in, I know that one wire goes to each tank sending unit, and one goes to the fuel gauge, how do the other two work.
