Hello,

What would be the first thing YOU would do if you found a barn fresh truck?
I have just purchased a 1960 f350. I am going to be the second owner, the first owner parked this in a barn when he got sick, and passed away. R.I.P.
Unfortunately his children didn't want the truck, so it sat for 10 years. I seen a add in Craigslist for this truck, checked it out, it still had coolant in the radiator. I also checked to see if the motor is frozen or not. It wasn't and the oil looked fairly clean.
It had all of its glass windows and chrome moldings. But, it looks like the rear axle might have been changed.
pictures coming soon.

I'd put a 460/zf5 or a diesel in it. Then do whatever it needs to restore it; paint, seat, dash, etc.....and possibly 4x4 conversion. Nice grab.

When I get a fresh find, first thing is to see if it will run. Usually you will have to file the points a little, not always. I just use Berryman's B12 spray carb clean, crank it over and spray some in to see if it will fire. FWIW, most modern carb clean doesn't burn. If it does then clean out the carb and fuel pump, run it on a jug to evaluate the engine better.. If the engine sounds good, the clutch and trans mission feel ok, then it's on to all the rubber stuff and the fuel system. Brakes first. Minimum is replace the master cylinder, wheel cylinders and brake hoses. Belts, hoses. Usually mice have packed everywhere they can get with the cotton from the seat. Headliner, heater, muffler. On my 59 they even had the clutch packed full.
And on the brakes, before you buy any parts, have those drums checked to see if they are serviceable. They can be tough to find. And also she is going to be slow, those rear ends typically had gear ratios in the 5s. I think my 57 was 5.13s

I agree with willowbilly. First thing I would do is use fresh gas from a jug and see if it'll fire up. As willowbilly said, you may have to clean the points. If it does run, then assess the rest.

What motor does it have? Unless your wanting to race it, you may be happy with the guts it gots.......
