Yeah tried every type of socket tried to get vise grips on it with no luck. Their is just no room around that nut. I looked at trying a deep well bolt remover but it didn't look like I would have enough room to put it on and try to turn it.
You may be stuck cutting the stud and then using the remover.
Then it will be a case of finding a new stud.
Have you heated the nut to break free any thing holding it?
The bolt with the stud was $5 at my local dealer. They just gave me a loose part not in a bag so Im not sure what the number is, I know when I looked a WBL ford parts I could not find it. I ended up getting the bolt backed off far enough with an extractor and then cutting the stud off between the nut and the valve cover bolt. After that the only pain is the two rear lower blots, the 12MM ratchet wrench made life easier for them.
