Long time lurker. Read a tonne of threads on fuel pumps and still a little confused.
The truck I'm working at the moment is a 1996 Regular Cab Long Box 4x4.
Near as I can tell because of this I have a 19 gallon front and an 18.2 gallon rear.
Both pumps appear to have failed back flow check valves so are filling into each other. So can really only fill one tank completely. And at least one has a whine so loud I can hear it in the cab.
The 3 port appears identical other than the capped 3rd port and is marginally cheaper. But without removing my box in advance I'm not sure how I'd tell.
Any direction would be helpful. Or if I've totally misunderstood my tank sizes please correct me.
The three tube port is used for an aux fuel takeoff mostly found in Motorhomes for the AC generator fuel source (RV's class "A", "B" or "C"). Not used in pickups unless you have a need for a extra fuel source.
Awesome thanks for the clarification. Now to drop even more $ but at least when I'm done I'll have dealt with the majority of neglect from the PO of this unit
