Hey guys, just checking in to see if anyone is using the bilstein's on their 2017SD. I have taken delivery of my 17 XLT that should have had the FX4 pac, unfortunately it didn't (and I paid for it) so now I'm going to upgrade the stock shocks. I used the Bilstein's before and was very happy with them for the min price. Can anyone tell me if they have purchased these for their SD and what the part numbers were?
Front is the same part# as the 11-16s, rear hasn't been released yet, some have used the same rear as 11-16s, but the bottom bolt, I believe, is a different diameter.
Yes, I am using them. I purchased the bilstiens both front and back for a 2016 f250 0" lift. the fronts went on without an problem. the rear had a 9/16th lower bolt so the 2016 bilsteins don't fit from the factory. What I did was to order new bushings for the lower. pushed the old ones out with a large c-clamp. pushed the new ones in.. mounted... no problem.
Hope this makes sense. if not let me know... i will take pictures if you need them.
yes, I purchased the stock height 2016 bilteins . when extended they where longer then the stock height of the OEM ranchoes. I do wonder if i should have gotten the 2 to 4 inch lift or what the difference would have been. that said, i dont notice much difference with the unloaded ride. the truck still rides stiff (its a truck) the big reason i swapped them was for towing. I do see a significant towing difference.. less bounce for sure.
my next add will be the helwig rear sway bar.. my fx4 did not come with one.. i tend to get a lot of side to side motion even with minor changes of highway pavement.
