Fox Shocks

what is the change on the '17 shocks vs the '16?
i have heard one of the rear bushings has changed. i called Fox, they said it was the front bushing, i told them i heard the rear, then they weren't sure. at any rate they gave me the part numbers for the correct size bushing and sleeve.
can anyone confirm which bushing needs to be changed ?

Rear for certain. I believe its the lower bolt if I remember correctly...and if Im not mistaken, the shock bolt is smaller on the 17's and you have to install a different bushing. We did mine back in early October so it's a challenge to remember every detail.

thanks.

is the bds emblem just a sticker on the shocks or is it painted?
if an emblem, can it be removed without removing the rest of the fox emblem?

You could remove the BDS decal if wanted but it's a fox sticker.

Cut the BDS part off with a blade ..LOL
You can't even see the decal on the rears, the frame rails hide it unless you climb up under the truck.

peel all the stickers off, powder coat to match and take it to your local tattoo shop to have them airbrushed. Are we building a show truck?

What issue are you all trying to remedy with the Fox shocks? Sorry for the ignorant question, but I don't have my truck yet so I don't know what needs to be changed in the ride.

Thanks,

I would say what everyone is trying to "remedy" is in the original poster's post. Does Fox have a shock out YET to fit the 2017. I have heard yes....and no. Fox officially does not have a 2017 2.0 listed on their website. Others have said the 2016 Front fits exactly...but the rear needs a different size bushing for 2017. Owners say BDS company "has" a bushing that they ship with the 2016 Fox shocks that makes it a 2017....or should I say fits a 2017. Not sure about sticker gate above...but the other part about the bushing is what everyone is trying to remedy......I think...LOL EDIT...the part numbers for the 2016 Shocks for 2-3 lift..which is what our trucks are stock...is F - 980-24-646-2 R - 982 247 17....according to what's posted on this site.

Thanks,
History has shown the stock "Rancho" branded shocks to be suspect in many cases, losing effectiveness very quickly. Upgraded shocks *may* improve unloaded ride and most likely will improve a loaded ride.

No such thing as a ignorant question here, that's what the forums are for.
Fx4 rancho's aren't any better than the stock shocks ..Junk.
Sticker gate, lmao.

BTW, the stock FX4 "Rancho" shocks aren't made by Rancho. They're rebranded Motorsport or some such crap. Ford just licenses the paint scheme/name. Real Ranchos are a better shock from my understanding. In waiting for the Rancho 9000xl shocks for the 2017. Fully adjustable for better ride loaded or unloaded.
