Freshen Up Badges

Freshen Up Badges
I bought a set of Excursion badges from flea bay and decided to put them on today.
For anyone that hasn't taken badges of a car before, the hands down easiest way to take them off if use some fishing wire and pull it back and forth in a sawing motion between the badge and the car - goes through the adhesive like butter. Then you can grab the adhesive at one corner and pull it away. It leaves very little residue and took me less than 30 minutes to do sides and back.
There are alignment pins on all the badges and the ones I bought had the alignment pins that went into the same holes.
Back of the OEM badge
Easy adhesive removal - followed by some Goo Gone and a wash with soapy water to clean it up
The new badge
I also added a small Super Duty badge on the back instead of the ancient looking Limited badge
I don't recommend using heat guns etc. It makes a mess, and burn your paint and harder to remove the adhesive. Just be careful not to break your fishing line when you get to the alignment pins - you need to go around them and when you get far enough lift the emblem of the panel to get past it.
