I have never seen any up close pics of vinyl overlays. My question is can you still easily make out the "ford" under it? I seen a punisher overlay on ebay that I really liked

I put a overlay on a Cobra I had and they are pretty thick you cant see thru them.
yes you can see the raised lettering .. HOWEVER . .if you want to take some time and do it right, you can make it look good.
I did it on mine with the punisher logo in fact and here's how !!
1. Pick what you want - there's a TON of stuff out there on Ebay, etc. I got mine from this guy : Ford Emblem Stickers Here's what he sent :
They don't lay down perfectly, so I trimmed out the parts I would stick down. - Basically I cut the skull and silver ring out AWAY from the original decal.
Next sand, sand, sand !!! I started with 60 grit to get the blue off and down to bare metal. Then continued to get the embossed letters smooth. I worked my way to 100 grit, then 220, then finally 600 grit.
Next, paint it whatever color you want. I used Krylon satin finish in black. Lays down very smooth and dries for re-coat in 10 minutes. Once dry, put on whatever decal you want
Once that's done, just shoot on some clear coat. I put double sided tape on the backside, and trimmed it down to the edge.
i dont know how to upload a picture to a thread but i have a superman/superduty overlay on my 2011 and put it on just how the directions said it looks great but it did not stick at the bottom but you cant tell and it looks great, like it came stock with the truck, got many complements on it
