Dashmout Overdrive Cycle Switch
91' Bronco Full-size w/351w and E4OD.
I'm trying to figure out both the wiring harness to, and the function system of the Overdrive Cancel switch on the dash. Rig has cruise control but I never, have ever, used it and I'd like to incorporate the cycle switch into the On/Off buttons in the steering wheel so when I approach a hill and want to downshift I don't have to reach down by my knee to do so. The dash switch is a reset switch so when power is disconnected it resets to default on, and when you press it it lights the dash indicator, disabling the TC lock-up. Not sure if it is just triggering a relay, or if it Is a relay itself. 4 wires into the back of it. Any advice?
And I realize deleting cruise control isn't ideal from a resale point of view, but with how much I've put into and rebuilt on this Bronco, I will never be selling it unless I ever declare bankruptcy.
You could also replace the shift handle with a later model one that has the button and light on the handle.
Seats came out of an 05' F150 Lariat supercab. Downside is not being able to get into the rear as easily from the front doors but the modern look, modern amenities of heated/power/memory/leather seats greatly outweighs the inconvenience. And the color change to match the interior turned out rather classy and modern. Also with the addition of chrome LED license plate lights wired for footwell lighting, upgraded door/B-piller audio. Only thing left to change is the carpeting.
