Transfer case question
I just bought a 99 f250 super duty lariat. Bought it with a busted trans and transfer case it has the 4r100. Apparently the front drive shaft locked up going down the highway, when this happened the transfer case was obliterated into pieces and what was left of the front shaft was slapping the transmission cracking the hell out of the case.
I've got the trans being rebuilt but with no transfer case tag I have no clue as to which transfer case I need, its electronic and from what I gather on ford parts site its a np273 I believe(not 100%), but I don't know what the spline count count is and have nothing to compare as the pieces are laying on the side of some highway, Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

What I would do it.... Take the complete transfer case to a Transmission shop or an Off Road shop that works on suspensions and see what their opinion is. I'm sure someone in the field knows what you have.

basically all that was left of the case was what stayed bolted to the trans and the inner workings between that and the rear drive shaft, nothing else...

You will see various spline counts because these TCs were used in Ford, GM and Dodge trucks.
IIRC the Ford used a 31 spline input shaft, but please wait for someone to verify before you spend $$$.
