I have a new process205 transfer case. and I was wondering if I can put it in my 2001 super duty. has anybody done this before? is there any information out there to do this? any answer to my question would be grateful, and much appreciated. thank you in advance.
PTO's on SD's mount to the transmission, not the transfer case. I don't know if there is a difference in the transmission or not. On my truck, which is a manual tranny, there is a cover plate on the side where the PTO would mount. I have not looked at an automatic to see what it has.

the transfer case I have this new process 205, and it has a pto access. is from the 75 ford f 250, and it's a divorce transfer case.
I'm sure that is true, but it won't fit on a Super Duty. On the Super Duty line of trucks, the PTO is on the transmission.
Look on the side of your transmission and see if there is a PTO access plate. If there is, I would find a dealer of PTO accessories and find out what type of PTO you need and if there is a special transmission requirement for it.

According to the service manuals, both the 4R100 and 5R110 had optional PTO provisions. They were different part number transmissions. So if you want to put a PTO on you are going to need a PTO optioned transmission.
The drive train was the same from F-250 to F-550 trucks. Beyond that, you had different engine, transmission and transfer case options.
well I checked my transmission and there's no pto. so evidently mine doesn't have the pto option. I guess I'll have to check the wrecking yards for a transmission that has a pto options....... or maybe I can do something with hydraulics somehow???
I have heard of people doing something with the power steering pump, or an additional power steering pump. But it's just something I've heard, not something I'm familiar with.
I thought that the auto did not have a PTO port until now. I think I remember them putting a PTO on the auto in 2012 since the manual is not an option any more.
