Ok so I own a 95 f250 7.3 5spd 4x4 problem is when I'm accelerating it cuts out around 2000k sometimes even when I'm crusing I had it stall a few times so i replaced the cps now it doesn't stall just cuts out started doing this back in March but only when it was cold now it's getting worse, I cleaned put the fpr screen and it was very clogged but no difference, also seems to idle a bit higher then normal and shakes idk were to start a friend figured I should start with the lift pump but I doubt that's my problem cuz if it's not in gear and I rev it up it's fine any help would be awsome the is in advance
Before replacing the fuel pump, have you checked the fuel pressure? You should have around 70 lbs. while running. Take a close look at the pins on the valve cover gaskets for signs of them burning, both the outer and inner pins, and the harness that run them. If the motor is shaking, it sounds like one or more cylinders is not firing, which would point me to the valve cover gaskets. Was the CPS a Motorcraft or International, or was it a parts house one? It seems that the ones from a parts house don't play nice with these engines.
I haven't checked the fuel pressure still waiting on the mechanic to do a buzz test and all that, cps was ordered from the local piston ring, it doesn't sound like it's missing very much when idling at all just cuts out like a bad cps but theres no code for the cps , there was ome before i replaced it tho
Generally the CPS won't throw a code by itself, excessive cranking will though. The cut out symptom you described does sounds like the CPS. "cps was ordered from the local piston ring", what does that mean? Dealing with the CPS, and other sensors go only to a Ford or International dealers to purchase the part.
