just back from 7,000 mile trailer pull , and today start the truck and the engine light is on. Torque Pro reading the code says #4, and sure enough its all over the place...

tomorrow morning, while cool outside, will change with the one under the rear seat..

2012 with 67000 miles. 1st sensor failure

Also check to see if it is covered under the EGT warranty extension. Do not remember the number of years but pretty sure you are within the mileage limits.

FSA Title: EXHAUST GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR EXTENDED COVERAGE
Field Service Action Number: 15M02

Did you have the ECU flashed for the EGT 4 shutdown issues?

Sam, Don't be in a hurry, soak it in PB Blaster or the like for awhile. The threads are bound to be corroded, and you don't want to spin that bung off the exhaust. Some say to cut the wire, and get a deep socket 6-point on it too. All those heat/cooling cycles wreak havoc.

cool, thx.. looks like I am inside the coverage window..

the truck has been kept up on flashes.. I assume it has, as I just got a warning, no shutdown like in prior versions..

My copy of 15M02 states:
If vehicle was not out of warranty in July of 2016, the coverage extends for a total of 11 years or 120000. Mi.

Yep, when the mechanic saw that one, he hustled it up to get it out. The service writer probably doesn't know jack about it. Anyway, glad she's fixed buddy!
