I used the Edge universal and I couldn't get it to work right. I bought the transducer and a 3/8 barb hose splice with a 1/8 not gauge port in the middle. I got everything programmed and it would show pressure but it would not bleed down. So when I went to town the pressure went to about 10-12 psi, stopped at the first stop sign it didn't go down so by the time I got to the second stop sign it was up to around 20 psi and by the time I got to town it was up to around 27psi. Had me worried so I temporary plumbed in a pressure gauge and headed to the big hill fully loaded to make sure I didn't have a HG problem. When that showed that there wasn't a problem I bought another transducer and still had the same problem. Since I couldn't trust it I pulled it out. Not sure what the issue was.
Good to know about that problem, did you get the sensor from edge? Sounds like the sensitivity level set to close on that sensor not allowing a reduction in readings. What would your reading show right after you released the pressure?

When I released the pressure it would go back to zero. There is a video on youtube for setting up the sensor. Been awhile since I set it up but if I remember correctly a 30psi transducer .5v= 0psi and 4.5v=30.
I may have the least expensive option, a Mr Gasket fuel pressure gauge on my coolant filter housing. Admittedly hard to see going down the road . It's been on there a while with no issues.
Yea thats the cats meow rusty but im lazy lol, wanta see it while towing which is about 90% of my trucks life along with fuel pressure, trans pressures.
Exactly why I'm doing it. I want to see it when loaded with the 5er pulling a long grade. Although this last trip we hit a bunch and no issues but I'd still like to know at any moment & any given time. Up to now I check coolant pressures annually, usually when I change the coolant filter in March.
There have been some who have used 3 sensors to a digital gauge, using a three position switch; oil/coolant/fuel.
I've got a standard pressure gauge with a max pressure pointer so I can see what max p was when I wasn't watching.
This is what I was talking about, and was discussed long ago but can't find the thread. Not as inexpensive as RA's, but I was able to find it on eBay for like $30 rather then the $150 from McMaster. We used this brand with the pointer on vehicle brake testing in the 80's, they were very good.
The pointer is resettable, but shows the maximum pressure. Since you can't see it real time, it works underhood. Someday if I don't convert to electric I'll move this into the cab. It's also tied into my coolant filter base, using Swagelok fittings and aluminum tubing.
I only have it on for about 8 hours of running, just about all that in December, but I was running through the PA mountains towing a load.
I set a search on eBay for it and it took maybe 3-4 months to show up.
Center back would be a little cheaper.
The guy thought it was broke because the needle showed a few psi. What he didn't realize was there is a little tab in the top plug that has to be raised to vent it, otherwise it will change due to temperature or baro variations being sealed.
We would set the red pointer for a target psi, but it's actually a max indicator. Even in the cab it would work well so you don't have to watch to know your max that occurred.
I have their fuel gauge for years now and been thinking of doing exactly what you asked and use a double throw switch. If I find the time and get off my wallet I'll try to prove them wrong. I'll let you know.

O.K. Following up here. I finally got around to installing another sensor in the top of the coolant degas resevoir. (See pic)
I released all pressure and went for a ride. @ operating temp pedal to the floor with over 21 p.s.i. boost this is the most I could get out of it, 5psi. We'll see what it hits next tow. And I'll follow up if it craps out which I don't think it will since it's not in direct contact with coolant, just vapor and air.
I called glow shift and asked if their fuel sending unit would work and they said no. I asked why and they stated it was only made for fuel....but who knows
Thanks again
Joe
This is exactly what I did. It works great. Also order their 3/8" hose T to splice into the return hose coming into your degas bottle and attach the sending unit to it. I used their 30 psi fuel pressure gauge.

Thanks for the info. I have had one other time I called glow shift and the idiot had no idea what he was talking about. I inquired why it wouldn't work and he said because it won't....nothing else....I was like f you....bye
