Bumpside Topper/Cap on Dentside?

Do the two generations have the same bed dimensions and rear window angle?

The bed I'm not sure about but caps but the headliner and headliner trim are different Bump to Dent so I would think the window shape would change.

Long Beds are roughly the same dimensions all the way up to 97.

Dents and bombs have pretty equal dimensions bedwise. The cab is different as the bombs have a straight cab back and dents have a slanted cab back toward the front. You would just have a slightly wider opening between the cap and bed on the dent. My dad used my old straight wall topper from my 72 on his 77. And Garrett, even Ford says they made 98's.

They may used to. But Ford doesn't now according to my Ford sponsored parts computer. It may be because they built so little of them for special orders. Like they built some for our Military for example. Just for giggles I looked up 1998 F250 16612 hood.

When I went to pick the vehicle line (F250) it only listed F250 and no F350. Starting in 1997 we had two F250. Old body style H.D and the 1/2 ton looking L.D. F250 with the 7 lugs.

Once I clicked on "F250", I entered 16612. Which is a hood. Only the L.D 7 lug F250's hood was listed.

So my Ford sponsored parts computer doesn't recognize an old body style 1998 F250 or F350. If it did then it would have shown me both part numbers. 8 lug old body style F250 part number F2TZ16612A and the L.D. 7 lug F250's hood shown above. So to show you this I dropped back to 1997 F250. That is the year we did have both F250's. As you can see above now Ford shows me both part numbers.

Yeah, what I'm trying to avoid is the rear window to topper "V". It looks like the dents are the only ones to have the specific window angle. Looking to get a topper before winter but the dent toppers are elusive.

I remember Ford carried two back in the day. With and without sliding window. But there was no whole part number. The only way Ford would sell and deliver it to the Dealer, was mounted to a truck the Dealer was buying. Weird but true.
