I think the original engine in my 65 f-250 flatbed was a 352? what is the difference between a 352 and a 351 and will it bolt right in. right now it has a 300 inline 6 from a 91 in it all Mickey moused together. it runs but it overheats rather quickly within about 5 minutes. haven't had the strength to remove the head by myself, not as young as I used to be. my vin no. is f25yra9996. according to the body tag. any help would be helpful I got the truck for free just had to tow it 200 miles with a Windstar van and a tow bar. yes God was watching out for me and the other drivers.

Reason: puncuation
352 is an FE series engine. 351 can be a W (same bell pattern as the 300 six and 302 V8). Or an M, which is a destroked 400. (335 series motor.) Or a C which is the least likley. Go down to the engine forums and see how they are divided up by series.
What transmission is in it? Is the engine mounted correctly? Did it run and shift and drive ok before the overheating?
Does the engine have a V-belt or serpentine belt?I've read that the serpentine engine water pumps run in the opposite direction so if a newer engine is used, a different water pump may be needed. Maybe change out the thermostat.
it has a 300 /6 out of a 91 with the 1 bbl carb on it and an electric fuel pump because there is no spot on the engine for a fuel pump. it has a 4 spd manual with a brand new clutch and it ran great getting it up on the trailer and getting it off the trailer but if i let it run for more than a few minutes it overheats. and it sat for about five years outside before I got it. and the radiator has a big plug of jb weld in the middle of the radiator so i am sure the radiator is most of the problem that and the radiator has two outlets on the bottom one of which is plugged off, so I figured to get a 351 and keep the tranny and get the right radiator.
it's a new thermostat and the block was flushed right off the bat. I have been trying to find one at the wrecking yard but people pull them and scrap them. I also need a fan shroud or an electric fan.
