Last week some guy knocked on my door. Said he noticed the 2017 F450 in the driveway and the 05 F250 on the street. Wanted to know if I was going to sell the 05. I said I planned to, but not for another month.
He came back yesterday, all hot to buy. Kept saying he had cash. Wanted to know my price and then low-balled me, offering $7500. I just walked back into the house.
Years ago I pulled my '66 GT-350 out of the garage go I could clean the floor under it. Some guy was visiting a neighbor did a u-turn and pulled across the front of my driveway. I don't care for that. Wanted to know if I wanted to sell the old Mustang. Started to point out all the flaws. For one I hate cold-sales people, two I get grumpy. For two months he kept stopping by. The floor is pretty dirty under that car.
We used to have the Gipsies around here that would come up to your house telling
you they would fix that dent for x$ and it tensed to be low. They would even do that
in parking lots. Maybe they moved up north because I have not seen them around here
in some time. Not that I miss them because I don't. The person that stuff was being
sold to always seemed to get the short end of the deal. You name it they exploited it.
Nothing like watered down asphalt sealer that still tracks into the house weeks after it has dried.
Maybe there are some good honest ones out there but I have not met any.
