so I am overboosting. Here's a video of it happening. That is maybe 3/4 throttle. The map reading on torque agrees with the high reading of the gauge. Gauge is plumbed into the manifold elbow. What could cause this? I have a stock turbo. SPD tune is on the truck. And I haven't taken it off and checked but I plan to when I get home and drive it to and from work with the stock tune tomorrow and see. I feel no turbo lag and she sweeps fine at idle as it should. P0603 KAM memory code was present but I had disconnected the batteries on Saturday. No other codes present. Any insight?
Your tuned and the pressure your reading is straight from the manifold. The tunes fool the truck so it doesn't set the wrench... you didn't you get a code for over boost, the truck really never sees that pressure according to the PCM... but your gauge does see real pressure because it's right to the manifold.
Read the boost from the PCM on the OBD port, bet it doesn't go much above 28psi, and then for just a second or so.
Better have studs, why running a tune is dangerous... And they say it shouldn't create higher pressures.
Lots to this besides boost... high boost could also be a restriction of air flow and why removing the EGR sometimes lowers boost as air flow increased.
Try a stage 2 turbo.... you don't want to see what that will do to a real boost gauge.

one day I will have a stage 2 but for now I'm stock. I am studded and degas pressure never goes over 10psi at 192-195.8* ect. Map on torque does read around 35psi but there is no wrench light. I tried to get a video of my torque screen but I couldnt glare was too bad. My egr is deleted with a new up pipe. If you saying this is not an issue then I will take your word for it. According to the tune writers this tune shouldn't make more than 28psi unless something is wrong. But I see no issue in performance low end, top end, just high boost numbers.
I am studded. And if it was a sticky turbo wouldnt I see some sort of other issue besides overboost? Seems like I shouldn't worry about it. Just dont want the turbo to take a crap.
Well I guess it is the tune as I drive into work ok the stock and didnt get near my tuned boost levels. I'm gonna email tsd and see if there is any cause for concern but seems like it just is what it is.

You're not going to hurt the turbo at 35 psi. I don't consider 35 psi over boost on a tune. Way back in the day the stock 03's would boost 32+ on stock tuning before Ford started cutting them down because of head gasket issues with TTY factory bolts. 35 psi is nothing in my experience and I've seen a few things
