I'm not sure. But, my advice is put your old starter on the shelf for a 'spare' and run the good starter. After 1/4 million miles, I don't have a 'spare' anymore. Lol.

Is it a 2 or 3 bolt starter? What I have now is a 2 bolt and one of the holes was partially stripped when I got it. Did not realize when I had the trans out or i would have fixed it then. Used a longer bolt to catch some good threads. Need to put in an insert when I have it out again.

Difficult to see from the picture on the CNC site, but appears to be 2 bolt...

https://cncfab.us/product-category/p...3/denso-99-03/

Although, if the bolt hole is where the blank is at on the mounting surface of the starter, it could be drilled out and utilized as a 3rd mounting location. Not sure about the orientation of the starter and bolts though, so what I have said could be 100% wrong...

It is 2-bolt. If you have a stripped bolt hole, fix it. Still worried? Add blue loctite.

No need to try to add a 3rd bolt.
