How did you access the pedestal bolts on the passenger side? I can't even see em'.
if I remember correctly I used a universal and a long extension. I believe I had to remove the egr rubber hose too. Its been a while as my back bolt didnt make it back on the truck either. It wasn't easy to get it out with the pedestal but it is doable.
Too expensive for me att but a mechanic friend bought one last year and swears by it - saves so much time and effort when something like this happens (before it gets so far)
That stuff is FANTASTIC to break stuff losse....let it soak
Toomanytoys mentioned Aerokroil, a study proved it was the best thing off the shelf for removing rusted hardware. Only thing better was ATF/Acetone mixture.
At home I have the Kroil, at the farm I have the ATF/Acetone for the funky 1950's farm equipment rusty stuff. At home I bought one of small long needle dispenser bottles from McMaster and put Kroil in there so I can use it wisely and not spray everywhere.
Well, I finally got it! Managed to pry the manifold up enough to get the egr cooler out, then was able to access the pedestal bolts. Still was a b*#ch to get the turbo assembly out & managed to break the plastic tube on the oil filter housing base off in the process. Then had the bottom bolt from the uppipe to the turbo flange seized! Had to pull the whole flange & uppipe assembly , then cut off the bolt head. This damn 6.0 wasn't wanting to give up that egr cooler!
