I recently purchased a used 2012 F250/6.2L and there is a red switch on console that I can not figure out what it is for. Can someone tell me what it is?
That's a rocker switch with an led light on it that illuminates when the switch is on. My guess would be this was to turn either some type of lighting such as aftermarket light bar, or fog lights or lights to a headache rack or maybe to an maxillary fuel tank pump to power it on when it was in use or even a beacon light something in that natiure
You could always trace back the wiring to see where it goes
Thanks for the replies. I did not realize it was aftermarket because it blended in so well I thought it was an option. I will have to try and figure out where the wires go :|
Ok.. I think I figured it out. Found a pair of wires running back passed the gas cap underneath truck that were cut off and were left dangling there. Looks like it has a 30A fuse on it. Now I should figure out what I should add to put them to use

Ugh! I hate it when people cut wires and then they leave em there and don't do anything to them, and the next poor guy is trying to figure out what the heck and even worse if fuses start popping.
My oldest Son bought a 06 ram 1500 and he failed to do some checks, whoever had it had a sound system with amps speakers subwoofer etc well when it came time to sell they just chopped all the wires and pulled the equipment out and then buried the edges of the wires that were sticking to the various devices used to be.
We had a hell of a time tracing all that old wiring down and taking it out so the truck wasnt blowing fuses, cripes windshield wipers wouldn't work locks etc cause of they way all that was wired in. Not fun at all.
