FICM Voltage

Just recently programmed a Scangauge 2 to my '06 F350 to get FMP. Most of the time it's 45V or above, but while on the freeway, it did go down to 44 and 44.5V for a second and then back up above 45V.

Does this mean that the FICM is starting to go?

Newbie here with the 6.0 so forgive me if I am asking something that has been covered extensively.

EOT and FwT never got past 15 degrees delta so that's good.

It's time. Get it done right.
Give Ed a call at >>> FICMRepair.com - FORD Powerstroke 6.0 FICM Repair, PHP Tuning and Truck Parts
The ∆ numbers look ok but are you up to full temp when doing this? If not
that sort of tosses the results out of whack. Also recovery time after a hard
climb will also give you a good idea. It should not take too long so long as
you moving air. Be that by the fan or moving down the road.

The temp numbers are when running on freeway for half hour or so. First the FwT was higher than EOT until it warmed up. Then EOT got higher, but never over 15 degrees of FwT.

Will look into the FICM and alternators. I have 2 alts under the hood. Couple of weeks ago I had to get a jump from AAA at work. Drove hime and replaced both batteries. The AAA guy tested my charging system and said it was ok.

Dual alt systems can be a bit harder to catch till both expire.

Well you should already have the 140A top one. Unless someone changed it
and put in the 110A one.

If you don't have a great demand for amps you could just add the undersized pulley.
Could save a few $$ that way. Mine was a single and I put the 140A one in with the
smaller pulley and the truck was very happy. But I did not have a high demand with
things like bug woofers and amps or lots of lighting and other things that like power.

Looked up FICMRepair.com. I like the lifetime warranty option, but not available for California. I have no desire for tuning it making it into a dragster. Just want it to pull a heavy 5th wheel sometime in the future. Would like to get a dependable FICM unit and be done with it. Maybe there is some place local that rebuilds these with better parts.I do plan on bulletproofing the motor sometime in the future.

Edit: BTW, thanks for the tip using a smaller pulley for the alt. Won't that mess up the belt tension?

Still give them a call. They might have a way around the CA CARB BS.They can repair yours and not add any tuning to it.

Thanks for the mentions, guys! FICM tuning is absolutely available from us for California customers, it's just ECM tuning where we have to be careful.

Hope this helps!
