probably a bad flasher. there are two in the truck. one you can see in the fuse box, and one on the reverse side that you can not see.
the one on the back of the fuse box is for the hazard flashers.
Well, I had some time to kill today, and decided to attack again this problem.
Two things I found out; 1) there is no second flasher on the back of the fuse panel.
2)The hazerd flasher is between the glove box and the door jamb/ bottom of the "A" pillar
The weird thing thou, is that I started this problem with no functioning hazard flashers, now I found the hazard flasher, and it's working, but now my regular flashers won't work????
The problem is most likely the multi-function switch that includes the wiper/blinker stalk as well as the flasher button behind the steering wheel. These are common to fail on our older trucks.
It’s a really easy fix! You can buy a new Motorcraft replacement for around $100, or you can buy aftermarket for under $40. Both will work.
I just had to replace this on my ‘95. Very rewarding to fix since it is so easy!
So, I do not really know what I did, but all in all, everything now works as it should.
It might have to do with it's age, and some corrosion here and there, and since I had to pull several connectors to measure, it might be well possible that that restored contact enough to work again?!?!
