The only other devices I see with hoses would be my vacuum booster and this ball thing on the driver side fender

Could all of this be why I'm only getting 5Mpg regardless of how I drive?

Well darn I almost got excited again. as for seeing any other vac devices ,I did find another coffee can below my overflow tank. but I don't imagine it's doing much good the hose to it is absolutely burnt to a crisp.

No I have nothing that even looks similar to this nor do I know what that is. I would assume it to be passenger side correct maybe near this guy

Looks like it was removed and bypassed. So, don't worry about your TAB solenoid anymore.

So, you can disconnect the vacuum line to the TAB Solenoid (White /with Red Stripe)W/R s. coming from the right side line on the coffee can.

Plug the line or cap the coffee can.

So these tubes were the correct spot? If so when engines running these things have a feel like a check valve is bouncing in them.

To add to this when I bought the truck it had two pipes in the bed the previous owner said they went up to this spot. I still have the pipes but the bottoms are bent like he just pulled them off.

Are they still attached to your smog pump ?
