Your truck has the heavy duty 3 speed with column shift.

Thank You Merten! Yes, heavy duty 3 speed. The cross member is pretty rusted and nothing visible but I do have some Restor-a-gel for raising the number. Ill sand down then finer and finer to smooth level surface in that area, then try the gel. I have nothing to lose at this point.. now of course if I find it I may have to use this chassis after all. I was already in chassis swap mode in my mind. I'll give it one final go at that number and post the results. I do prefer original, even though a chassis swap would probably yield a better vehicle, but then you lose all the character when driving it. (Poor acceleration,hard steering,poor brakes and a low top speed!) Yet that still appeals to me...

Use scotch brite pads with purple degreaser. Sandpaper will remove useful clues.
