LN 600 serial number

Just picked up an immaculate '73 LN 600 with no title. Serial tag removed from door. There's a number stamped in RH frame rail , on the side, 8 digits, but no letters. Could this be the VIN number? If not, is the VIN stamped elsewhere on the frame? Thanks, Fritz

Vin should also be on top of frame near steering box. Post up some pictures!
