VIN Number on Frame Rail

I have a 1975 F250 4x and am looking for the VIN number that is supposed to be stamped into one of the frame rails. Was wondering if anyone knows the specific location of this number on frame. I've cleaned the frame on both sides of the engine compartment but haven't found any numbers yet. Any help would be appreciated.

Randy, the vin should be on top of the right rail, about or in front of the front axle. Right = passenger side.

Thanks, I found the number in the vicinity where you said it was. It was closer to the rear area of the front right fender well where the exhaust manifold drops below the frame.
