Does Ontario have the law that a vintage automobile can have a period license plate registered to a vehicle of the same year as the plate?

I'm not sure on that Rick but the vanity plates we bought for the pickup is 1956F100. Not sure if I was able to find a plate from 1956 if I could use it. Might ask that at the government office..

The State of Illinois has it and most of the cars at the cruise in at the Diner have plates that are of the year of the vehicle. Period plates must be easy to find at garage sales and flea markets here because most of them have them in great shape.

Must not be a law there.

Before Illinois changed to plates that have yearly stickers, Plates were a different color each year and could be picked out in the crowd.
