Question slip yoke for E4OD – 4x4 vs 4x2

i've got the rear driveshaft from a '95 F150 4x4 that came with E4OD (suppose it doesn't matter due to transfer case) -- i'm building RWD truck also with E4OD and wondering if this yoke will work? found stuff online that makes it sound like ford used same yoke for tranny and t-case, but this doesn't seem like it wants to go on very far in the tail shaft (also seems new seal is too small, unless it is just super tight).

is there a trick for install, or do i have the wrong part?

thanks in advance.

Does this channel need to align anywhere special? Output shaft doesn't have corresponding cut.

4x4 uses a thicker yoke then 4x2, spline are the same size though so you can put a 4x2 yoke on a 4x4 but you will have a good gap between the seal and yoke.
Don't worry about the key in the yoke, there is no matching key on the tail shaft so you can put it on anyway you want.

thanks... yes, that appears to be the problem. this yoke is too thick, so won't slip on into the housing. stopped by a driveshaft shop yesterday and they said the C6 yoke would work.
