When I purchased my truck the PO threw in the 4x4 transfer case and transmission, along with the front drive shaft with the deal. So I have been slowing getting my ducks in a row to finally convert my 93 f150 to 4x4. The front of the truck has been replaced for a 4x4 front end already, and all I have been needing is the rear driveshaft. So to my luck I found one on Craigslist for 60 bucks. Being overly excited and ready to get the conversion done with soon I got home to look at all the parks I had.
Then I noticed that if I was to install my driveshaft I just picked up I would have no slip yoke on the rear. And there lies my dilema. Should I replace the transfercase to allow for a slip yoke. Or should I have the driveline shop cut mine and add a slip yoke?
This is the output of my transfer case to the rear end
I just noticed last night that I had this problem. And the driveline shop I would go to was closed today, so I won't know the price from them till tomorrow. It would be about 200 bucks for a bw 1356 from craigslist.
The driveshaft is not flange mount unfortunately. I just touched base with the driveline shop, now that they are open. And they want 350-375 to add a slip yoke to mine. So it would be more cost affective to get the other transfer case.
Anyone have one that they are willing to let go? Or want to trade for this one?
