Forgive me for a noobish question. Just got this 2000 2wd excursion and can't find good jack points to lift the front end.
There is a cross-member right in front of the two radial arms, but it is very thin so I am weary of jacking from there.
I see some good points to put the jack stands right next to the lower ball joint, but am not sure where to place the floor jack.
Any tips would be appreciated!
The pins on the front of each I-Beam are what I use to get the front up. They rotate slightly as the axle is raised. I never use a jack stand by itself underneath an I-Beam.
I lift on either side of the I beams closer to the wheel hub, and put a jack stand on either side of the truck under the I beam closer to the center pivot right next to my jack. Works great, never had an issue.
Depends on what you are doing, If you need to remove wheels, I lift from under I-beam close to the tire to reduce the effort. If you are working underneath, I lift via the blocker beam, under the front bumper. The official jacking points are rearward of front tires under the frame.
