Well, most of us are probably using bottle jacks, and the jack points are fairly cut and dry if you look in the manual... I think it show you where to jack from. However, if you use those jack points, where do you place the jack stands?
The jack is placed under the axle tubes, see pages 205 & 206 in your owners manual for pictures.
And yes the vehicle can slip off the jack or tip to one side if it is lifted by the pumpkin. Also when placing the jack under the pumpkin the lip on the cover can be damaged causing leaks.
...so where do you lift the truck if you are trying to put stands under your axles for safer work such as brakes, etc.? (the manual says the bottle jack is ONLY to change the tire)
There is enough room to place the jack under the axle tube and still place a jack stand under the axle tube. Jack stands should be placed as far out on the axle as possible for stability.
