I just installed a Fox 985-24-001 today and spoke with a tech. These shocks are now correct for the 17 trucks. The fix for the shocks with the same part number that are older is to cut the rubber off of the eyelet around the shock shaft with a razor knife. That rubber is not needed on the 17s and is what makes it seem like it bottoms out. Mine didnt have the rubber on it and I attached a pic
Here is a pic of a helper holding the wheel full lock against steering stops.

Mine just arrived from Suspension Conenction. They had a code for a 10% discount too. Made it fairly painless @ $160 and change. It’s been updated for the 17-18 Super Duties. Bought a pitman arm puller too, just to push the factory garbage off the truck without taking a sledge hammer to it. I’m anxious to see how it drives post install. Putting it on this afternoon and will report back.

CB,
thanks. Just ordered one from there. Now, if my truck would just come in, that'd be great.
I called Fox too and the 985-24-001 is NOT intended to fit on a 2017-2018 Super Duty, only 08-16 as it states on their site. Said the geometry is close which is why many are running it, but it is different (didn't go into detail, but might have to do with some folks saying it pulls left). Also said they don't sell any 17-18 SD stabilizers just yet but are coming out with a base p/n (like this 2.0) very soon and then an ATS p/n shortly after
Sux since I just found one on Amazon for $148 shipped but sending it back. It also had an inverted color logo which I hadn't seen before but was just mfg'd in May 2018. I only happen to have 2 since the first one came from an Amazon scratched up and looked used, so while waiting on the replacement I called Fox
Hate to be the bearer of bad news but if I was already running one then I'd probably just stick with it, but if I was looking I'd hold off

I just talked to Fox 5 hours ago and they told me it is the correct stabilizer for the 17-18. They removed the rubber piece on the shaft and that is it. So no bad news beared here lol
Man, I just don't get it then. I spoke to Fox sales yesterday. You think if it would work then they'd sell me on it

I know, it has been argued over so many times on different threads. I finally decided to go for it and I have no clearance issues even with the suspension flexed and the truck rides so much better. No left pull either. A lot of people are getting mixed info from Fox but I can tell you from experience it works for me.
like calling the DMV - talk to 5 people and get 7 different answers.
ill be waiting until they have real ATS PN for the 17+
I agree about the DMV lol. What Fox told me earlier today is the 985-24-001 is an IFP shock. The new ones don’t have the rubber part I pictured earlier. They do not have a ATS that fits 17-18 yet. He guaranteed me that info is correct and spoke with another tech he had with him and told me they are going to update the companies selling the 985-24-001 that it will work on 17-18 models. I really don’t know how much more you confirmed you can get than that lol. But to each their own, It made a great impact on my trucks steering.

Well, I ordered it and it's being shipped. I think I am going to go with Tricon on this one. Works for others, so should work for me.
Got it installed today. Me and my 7 yr old pulled the old one and installed the Fox. So far-so good. Drove around 50 miles this evening and she’s smooth as glass. It’s a good unit - noticeable difference in the smoothness of the steering. Ready for some interstate time to see how it handles at 75/80. Hopefully the movement at 60/65 is gone.
You mean to say Fox customer service is questionable???? gasp! lol. /sarcasm
i know! The distance between customer service and real users is getting further and further apart - and it’s everywhere now, not just Fox. So hard to find good help anymore. I talked to Suspension Connection and they said the part fits as it should. I concur after installation. All-good 👍🏻
So I called Fox this afternoon, and according to "Tim" they have not released a stabilizer for the 17 and up truck..... he said a lot of confusion on internet and guys are taking 16's and avoiding them to the new truck. New stabilizer by Aug/Sept. I spoke to BDS and they touched on having the steering assist re calibrated to their leveling kit....geezus it is never easy.....I know the service tech is going to look at me crazy when I request this.
