The 6.2 has @100 more hp, but @100 less ft lbs of tq than the last 7.3. Obviously the 7.3's power is at a much lower rpm. Give even an early 7.3 powerstroke one of the 6.2 transmissions and the 7.3 would have been a much better performer. I think the 6.2 has the 7.3 in reliability, the internals of a properly maintained 7.3 have the 6.2 though. It's apples to oranges.
I do think the 6.2 has earned the title though.

how does MPG of a loaded 6.2 handle to a loaded 7.3?
I absolutely loved my PSD. It was amazing. But there were many times that the turbo made driving it just suck. especially low boost times. Those situations are exactly why I love my V-10's. The 6.2 with her better trans options just re-enforces that opinion.
be it a 5.4, 6.8, or the 6.2...I think we can all agree that all of the gassers have amazing longevity. it is the norm up here in the Northeast to see 200k+ rigs still on the road. Which is right on par with a PSD
I think the true metric however should be gas mileage. which one yanks heavy stuff around and saves you the most money doing it
