Hm... Just looked into the TDI(powerstroke). Um... Aside from injectors($1200-$2200 depending on cores) and perhaps a lift pump($50-200)... what else would get ruined by water in the fuel?
One of the main benefits of the HEUI system is that engine oil instead of fuel is used, so the high pressure pump wouldn't be destroyed...
That relative simplicity might be why I keep hearing about people successfully running biodiesel or WMO or WVO in their 7.3 Powerstrokes...
Yea, Vdub. I imagine a new fuel system on a common rail can run close to 20k, especially if done at the stealer
Still, 1200 for pump and injectors isnt something i would want to pay. Seen the horror stories of people leaving veggie in the outfit and gelling causing all sorts of expensive headaches. I dont have much room to talk though, i used to burn as much wmo as diesel, never a problem and it loved it.
