Timing Light
If a fellow on a budget was in need of an affordable timing light that was suitable for occasional use on our trucks, would any of you have recommendations? Looking for dependable and practical rather than fancy. Thanks

I have the basic Actron from advanced auto...its works well for what it costs.

spend a little extra and get an adjustable timing light. I got a used equus innova from ebay for pretty good price.

I have a full feature adjustable and a simple Flaming River light. I mostly use the Flaming River. It is simple. Also, it works with high performance ignition boxes like MSD. Some lights do not.

Have that one. Uses 2 "D" cells so no extra wiring to get in the way. Fits in tool box nice.

I second on the "dial back" (adjustable) timing light. Not expensive and makes it much easier to set your advance without having to see all the little hash marks on the balancer.

Some of the newer fancier lights will not work with a high power ignition such as an MSD6

Bought the adjustable timing light from harbor freight for like $30-$40 and worked perfectly gettin my truck timed after tearing it apart
