I don't disagree at all. I will repeat I do not know much about it, but he gave a description of what was different, and everything he described was something to do with the pump, not the timing cover. So why wouldn't a reverse rotation waterpump fit a regular rotation cover? It may indeed not fit, but I haven't seen or heard about the smoking gun yet.

It's been a while so I could be mis-remembering. But from what I do remember, in this picture FuzzFace posted earlier you can see how the two water passages in the cover are angled in for the pump to be spinning CW as you look at the picture. If the pump was spinning the other direction you'd want the passage on the left twisted around so it points across the top of the cover and the passage on the right twisted so it points across the bottom.
